Celebrating Irene Payne’s 100th Birthday
Join us after service for cake in the Fellowship Hall in celebration of Irene and her 100th birthday.
 
New Adult Sunday School Class
This Sunday we begin the series, “The Habits of Happiness” by Rick Warren. Join us on Sundays at 9:30 am for this 6-week study as we explore exercises for a happy heart and biblically-based ways to develop a perspective of contentment.
 
“The Great Pumpkin Fest” 
Our annual event for families in our community will be on Thursday, October 31st. Funds are needed for generator lights, inflatable games and other supplies. If you would like to be a Patron Saint to help fund this event, please make a note on a green card, stating your name and the amount you plan to give. When giving, mark your envelope “Patron Saint”. We will also need lots of candy (the kind that are individually wrapped). There is a container on a table in the lobby for your candy donations. Thank you!
 
New Precept Adult Bible Study
Does Jesus Christ meet all your needs? Your view of Christ will impact every area of your life. Our Precept Inductive Bible Study, “That I May Know Him”, will begin on Friday, September 27th at 2:00 pm. In this life changing study of Colossians, we will discover the truth about who Jesus Christ is and the difference He can make in our lives. It will help empower us to walk in a manner worthy of our calling in Christ – at home, in the church, and in the world. Sign up at the Information Counter.
 
Ladies’ Prayer & Breakfast
Ladies’ Prayer & Breakfast is Saturday, September 21st at 8:30 am in the Conference Room (102). Join us as we pray for the needs of our church family and friends, followed by breakfast at a nearby restaurant.

In this 12-part DVD-based curriculum, we will explore the Enneagram, a powerful tool for learning about ourselves – why we do the things we do (and don’t do), how we can become more aware of the workings of our personalities, and how we can grow and seek transformation for greater balance and wholeness. There is a sign up sheet at the Information Counter for the seminar and the $30 Participant Guide Workbook. Invite your friends to join you on this fascinating journey. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide childcare.

Change Her Story
We are so excited that our church has currently helped 14 women change their story, giving them dignity, hope, and their own businesses! Follow our monthly progress on the Change Her Story poster on the Mission Board in the lobby. You can join us as we work toward our next $1,000 goal. Pick up a “Change Her Story” bank at the Information Counter and fill it with your loose change. When your bank is full, return it to the Information Counter. Be sure to include your name on a piece of paper inside your bank when returning it in order to receive giving credit.

There are copies of the new September – November edition of Our Daily Bread available at the Information Counter. Please feel free to pick up a copy.

2019 Altar Flower Calendar
If you would like to order altar flowers to remember an anniversary, wish someone a happy birthday, or designate as a memorial to a loved one, there is flower sign up at the Information Counter. Please choose a date with the name of the person ordering first, followed by the name of the person and occasion being remembered. The total cost at this time is $43.40, for which you receive giving credit. The flowers are yours to take home after service.

∙ July 21st – September 1st : There will be no Sunday School Classes July 21st through September 1st in order to give our teachers a well deserved annual vacation. Sunday School Classes will resume on Sunday, September 8th.
 
∙ August 7th – 28th : There will be no Adult Bible Study during the month of August.
 
Our campers and counselors leave for Hume Lake Camp on Sunday morning, July 21st.  Please keep them in your prayers while they are at camp.

Camp balances are available at the Information Counter. You may pay your student’s camp balance at the Information Counter or you may pay it online at our website, www.vccweb.org

You will be updated on Hume’s current policies and receive important additional information. Camp balances are due Sunday, June 16th.
