Announcement from Pastor Kevin, March 17, 2020

Dear Valley Community Church Family,

As events develop regarding the national and state official response to COVID-19, along with the request by officials to not gather even in groups as small as 10 people for the next 15 days, we are recognizing the need to comply with these regulations.  Therefore, we will be discontinuing all VCC gatherings (Sunday School, Sunday Service, Wednesday Bible Study, Youth Group, and Choir practice) beginning today and running through the end of March. This also includes the cancellation of the Ladies Brunch coming up this Saturday, March 21st along with Precept classes which are set to resume on Friday, April 17th.

We are planning to resume our regular Sunday schedule on April 5th.

I will be posting two Sunday messages for March 22nd and 29th online and you will be able to access them via our church app, church website, or our church Facebook page.

Allow me to encourage you with this passage of Scripture from Galatians 5:22-23, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (NLT) These fruits of the spirit are what we bring into this world whether times are good or times are difficult.  I encourage each of us to allow these fruits of the spirit to flow through our lives to others even as we practice what is now termed “social distancing”.

We as a church staff are praying for each one of you in our church family and trusting that the Lord will provide for you in every way during this season. Should you have a need of some kind please feel free to call the church, 916-383-0775.  If you call, please leave a message and I will get right back with you as soon as possible. Perhaps you just want prayer or you need to talk with someone about the events unfolding around us…feel free to call me and I would be glad to listen and pray along with you.

I also want you to know that we are praying for those of you who are impacted financially with reduced hours or having your income reduced because of business closure or diminished revenue.  If you should find yourself short on funds for necessities please let me know and we will help as we are able.

May the Lord Bless You and Keep You!

May the Lord Give You Peace!
